To comply with the General Data Protection Regulation, [GDPR} Ramblers Central Office has emailed all members for whom email addresses are held, to obtain specific consent to their receiving communication by email. Many members have not received this from Central Office . As the Group Representative to Strathclyde North Area Council, I am encouraging all members to contact 1. Central Office directly in order to select their choices. OR: 2. Create an account at www.ramblers.org.uk. . Quite clear directions to do this. Once registered, make a selection of what you want to receive. This can be changed at any time.
In this site the Walk Magazine can be viewed. By registering ,it can be received by email. Members who decline email cannot receive this as it is considered a form of Marketing. Other forms of information such as the Annual Report would be in this category. The only information regarding the AGM, which can be provided to those members who have declined to receive email, is the date and location.
Please remember also to update your Rambler Account with any changes in Address, Tel /Mob Nos. and email. This would obviously be helpful for our own Group too, prior to us receiving it from Ramblers Office.
