Meall Dearg – Saturday 21 July
This walk is more likely to take well over 6 hours and not 5 as in the programme, so please expect a very long day including the 5 hours drive. There are steep sections and it is rather boggy up to the bealach. It has been suggested that because we are likely to be back very late, we stop for a quick meal at the Real Food Cafe in Tyndrum on the way home. If you do not want to do this, please contact Fiona (contact details in the programme). If several people want to head straight home, then we may be able to organise one carload in advance to do this. If the cloud is going to be low with no summit views, we will do an alternative walk, possibly around Buachaillie Etive Beag. Remember the 08.00 start.

Treasure Trail round Milngavie – Monday 20 August
Booking opens on Monday 9 July for this fun evening. It is a 1.5 mile walk and will take about 1.5 hours. After the ‘recce’, we have changed how it will work best. There will be 7 teams of 4-5 per team, so a maximum of 35. Please choose your own members, and enter in teams of 4 or 5 on the booking form, including payment of £5 per person to Sheila Crawford. If you book on your own, we will allocate you to a team. Bookings will close on Sunday 12 August. Each team will then be emailed with a start time; teams will set out at 7 minute intervals from the Fraser Centre, the first starting at 18.30. You will be timed, so the winner will be the fastest time with the correct code answer to clock back into the Fraser Centre, where refreshments will be served from 20.00. It should be great fun. Please bring a pen. No local knowledge required.

Group’s walking holiday abroad: Norway 2019
Preliminary planning has started for the holiday in 2019. The destination proposed is Venabygd in central Norway, near Rondane National park, providing both easy and hard walking routes. Accommodation for one week in mid June 2019 in a mountain hotel on half-board basis is being investigated. Travel is by direct flights with Norwegian Airlines from Edinburgh to Oslo. In order to assess the potential number of participants, expressions of interest, indicating preferences for single or shared rooms, should be provided by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone to 0141 956 1706 as soon as possible. Expressions of interest are non-binding and do not provide any preference when formal booking is open.
