Why join?

We are an active, friendly and sociable group that welcomes everyone who loves to walk. We arrange walks suitable for people with different levels of experience and fitness on most weekends, with regular, easy mid-week walks too. Each walk, graded according to the level of challenge, is led by one of our volunteer walk leaders.  Walking is a great way to get into beautiful countryside, make new friends and discover how walking boosts your health and happiness.

You are welcome to try up to three walks free with us before you decide to join the Ramblers.  Once you have chosen a walk from our walking programme, please contact the walk leader to let them know you are coming.

Most weekend walks start from Milngavie Station Car Park (MSCP). Walkers usually share cars to the start of the walk, and passengers contribute to the driver’s petrol costs. Some members prefer to drive themselves to the walk start point.

Wednesday Morning Walkers meet fortnightly.  There are usually two walks, one of 3-4 miles at a slightly slower pace than the other of 5-6 miles. Membership of Ramblers is not required. Meeting place is Milngavie CLEC (library). Find out more

We also run summer private hire bus walks, regular social events and group holidays. Please explore our website to see what we do.

How to join

Walkers in our group are Ramblers’ members and get the benefits of a UK-wide organisation. Joining the Ramblers means that you can walk with any group across the whole of the UK, not just our local group. You also have access to an online library of walking routes, plus you receive the quarterly Walk magazine, email newsletters, and discounts on walking gear at Cotswold Outdoors, Mountain Warehouse and Blacks.
